Fleece Flight (noun): A grouping of similar weight yarns used for sampling their fleecy fabulousness
Throughout the world, there are over 1,000 distinct breeds of sheep, yet many of us are only exposed to a few of the most common in our everyday knitting. Fleece Flight is a wonderful way to branch out and experience some of those rare yarns you have been missing.
Fleece Flight is a parallelogram shawl designed, through a series of short row triangles, with 2 - 6 skeins of Heritage Breed, Small Farm yarns.
*Materials needed-
2, 4, or 6 skeins of worsted weight yarn, approx. 200 yards (183m) each
*Sizes - Small Shawlette (2 skeins/triangles), Medium (4 skeins/triangles), and Large (6 skeins/triangles)
*Gauge - 15 - 17 sts and 26 - 30 rows = 4” (10cm) in garter stitch, blocked
*Finished Size (blocked) -
Small - 13” / 33 cm depth by 44” / 112 cm wingspan (tip to tip)
Medium - 23” / 58 cm depth by 61” / 155 cm wingspan
Large - 23” / 58 cm depth by 79” / 200 cm wingspan
